Tired of strategic planning efforts that take 9 to 12 months to complete and still don’t achieve their intended results? Would you like to develop your strategy in one-third the time and see immediate implementation success? Discover how participatory and strengths-based strategic planning and implementation processes can both shorten the time to develop your strategy and ensure widespread buy-in and engagement across the organization.

Learn about and experience key components of strengths-based and high-engagement planning processes, such as appreciative inquiry (AI), open space, and SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) analyses. Through exploration of case studies, experiential activities, leading practices, and dialogue, you will understand how to create more enthusiasm, commitment, positive action, and faster results for your strategies.

You will learn to:

  • Have a basic understanding of appreciative inquiry as an approach, process, and framework for strategic planning and implementation.
  • Experience the “definition” and “discovery” phases of the 5D-AI process.
  • Gain practical skills and experience in planning your own strategic planning process.
  • Understand how other organizations have used AI for strategy development and the results they achieved.
