Social Media 201: Advanced Tools and Advanced Ideas for the Healthcare Field
Albert Maruggi
President
Provident Partners
St. Paul, MN

Have you experienced the battle scars and victories of social media engagement? You may know what Twitter is, someone has probably sent you a YouTube video, and you know your kids have a Facebook page. But what does it all mean to you, and how does it affect your organization? This is your chance to dig deep into Web 2.0 and learn to use social media to its full advantage.

First, get a hands-on look at Web 2.0 and social media. Learn the nuts and bolts of social media, and find out how the old boundaries of media relations, publications, marketing, and communications are being broken down by the universality of digital video and the Internet. Then take a deeper dive to find out . . .

  • How to select the right tactics. Twitter isn't for everyone, and the wrong tactic could sink your organization or get you sued. Learn how to select the right complement of social media tactics for your healthcare offering.
  • How to incorporate mashups, widgets, other advanced tools, and even technologies that haven't come around the corner yet into your social media campaigns.
  • How to “de-silo” management to maximize your organization’s investment in social media.
  • How to stand out by differentiating your organization’s use of social media.
  • How to determine what to share and what to keep private in social media venues. How authentic is too authentic? What lines shouldn't be crossed? How can you protect your doctors while reaching out to consumers?

Take this interesting and powerful journey with Albert Maruggi. Mr. Maruggi is the president of Provident Partners, a senior fellow at the Society for New Communications Research, and host of the Marketing Edge podcast. By virtue of his cross-generational expertise and technological savvy, he has become a nationally respected leader in the field of social media. He has worked with HealthPartners and Verizon and has spoken at hundreds of marketing events across the nation.
