Whether basic secondary information or sophisticated primary market analysis, successful marketers all use some form of market information to assist them in making decisions. Whether you are completely unfamiliar with the process of market research or use it regularly but not confidently, this session will provide the basic skills you need to become a knowledgeable and confident “user” of market research information.

This two-week online course will cover the following topics:

  • Why do research
  • How to design objectives-based research
  • Ways to collect information and when to use them
  • How to “read” the data and interpret it properly
  • How to discern good data from bad

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Properly design an objectives-based research study
  • Understand the data collection techniques available and when to use each one
  • Understand the world of analytical techniques available and how to interpret and use them properly and confidently

SHSMD U Online Courses are designed to meet the educational needs of adult learners. The 24/7 online learning environment allows you to log in and learn when it’s most convenient for you. SHSMD recommends setting aside approximately two hours per week for reading course materials and contributing to discussion plus three hours for the weekly scheduled conference calls.
