Guidelines for Releasing Information on the Condition of Patients

The AHA and the Society have updated the Guidelines for
Releasing Information on the Condition of Patients, which were previously
revised in 2001. The Guidelines provide information about how and when
hospitals can release information on a patient's condition to media, family
members and clergy. The information in the 2001 edition is still accurate--no substantive changes have been made--but the new version includes examples and frequently-asked-questions that may help you interpret and apply the Guidelines to tailor policies and procedures for your organization.
