SHSMD Connections 2026 | Call for Proposals
Proposals Due January 15, 2026
SHSMD is seeking workshop and concurrent session proposals for the 2026 SHSMD Connections Conference, taking place September 27 to 29, 2026, in Baltimore, MD. SHSMD is also accepting virtual session proposals for online education throughout 2026, including the annual social media certificate course in August. All submissions must be submitted through the online portal to be considered.
Topics of Interest
We welcome proposals that reflect the evolving landscape of health care strategy, marketing, communications, digital engagement, business development, and innovation. SHSMD is especially interested in sessions that explore emerging technologies, advanced leadership strategies, data driven insights, and perspectives from hospitals of all types including small, rural, children’s, and behavioral health organizations.

Submission Guidelines
Proposals should be written with flexibility in mind so they can be refreshed for potential use later in the year. SHSMD encourages interactive, skills focused formats that help members solve real challenges across disciplines. Before submitting, please review the submission requirements, criteria, and speaker benefits.
Please note:
- SHSMD will accept up to two proposals per organization.
- Presentations should include at least one presenter from a health care organization. If a provider is not included, please explain the reasoning within the submission.
- All presenters must be listed with correct contact information. Co presenters will be notified automatically when submitted.
- Presentations must be educational in nature and free from commercial promotion. Promotion of any product or service violates the Speaker Terms and Conditions.
- Speakers will be notified of their submission status by May 15, 2026.
